On November 8, 2021, Li Zhen, Chairman of Gotion High-Tech, together with eleven representatives from its partner-enterprises, including Geely, Huawei, ECARX, JDL, Yunda Express, Transfar, Full Truck Alliance, GCL and G7, announced the joint establishment of the Carbon-Zero Land Transportation Alliance. The alliance aims to promote the green, intelligent and high-efficient development of logistics industry in China.

The Commercial Vehicle Industry Becomes the Main Battlefield of Carbon Emission Reduction, Gotion Helps Partners Achieve Transition to Green Development

Achieving zero carbon transition through the development of green energy technology has gradually become a consensus across the world. More than 120 countries and regions have proposed their carbon neutrality goals. One of these countries is China, which proposed its "3060 Carbon Goals" to foster sustainable social development in 2021. According to the recent Notice on Printing and Distributing the Action Plan for Hitting Peak Emissions by 2030 issued by the State Council, the proportion of newly increased new energy and clean energy-driven options for transportation should reach about 40% by 2030.

Statistics show that about 10% of total carbon dioxide emissions come from the transportation industry, of which 80% are caused by road traffic. Commercial vehicles, with their great fuel consumption, contribute the most. Though just accounting for 20% of the total number of vehicles, they consume 51% of the fuel in the market. The emissions of just one heavy-duty diesel vehicle are equivalent to 306 passenger vehicles, in terms of the environmental impact. Therefore, the commercial vehicle industry is regarded as the main battlefield of carbon emission reduction. To promote the green development of the logistics industry, adopting new energy commercial vehicles is essential. Meanwhile, the application of new energy is also a key point in establishing a new and intelligent green logistics system in China.

As one of our development goals, Gotion High-Tech has consistently assisted the logistics industry to realize zero-carbon development. Up to now, we have made progress in product research and development and led the way in the commercial vehicle field, especially in commercial vehicles for the logistics industry. We have also established stable cooperation with various enterprises such as Geely, Karry and Ruichi Automobile. In the first half of 2021, Gotion High-Tech ranked second in the domestic new energy logistics vehicle sector, with an installed share of 24.2%.

Notably, the model Ruichi EC35II has batteries produced by us has successfully expanded the German and Pakistani markets. More cooperation projects in overseas markets are in progress and Gotion High-Tech is ready to advance the green development of the global logistics industry.

Joining Hands with Upstream and Downstream Industry Chains to Achieve the "3060 Carbon Goals"

After becoming a member of the Carbon-Zero Land Transportation Alliance, Gotion High-Tech will shoulder our responsibility as a leading power battery enterprise and take advantage of our technology and experience to realize cooperation with both upstream and downstream industry chains. By doing so, we will jointly explore an entirely new and green land transportation system combining innovative logistics tools and business models.

To better fulfill our social responsibility and advance coordinated and efficient cooperation, Gotion High-Tech and the other alliance members have put forward the following proposals.

1. Participate in zero-carbon land transportation. Improve intelligent green transportation and achieve neutrality in the whole value chain of the land transformation by applying more green energy, promoting low-carbon recycled manufacturing and increasing the operation proportion of new energy vehicles.

2. Be a driving force in the new energy revolution. Accelerate the large-scale application of new energy and improve its efficiency through technological innovation. Take measures to foster the replacement process of traditional energy and promote the development of a zero-carbon land transportation system.

3. Lead the technology-driven green development. Build an end-to-end and integrated intelligent logistics system by applying technologies such as big data, cloud computing and the Internet of Things to reduce costs and improve the efficiency of the logistics system.

4. Embrace achievements in green development. Form a communication and cooperation platform, explore more possibilities for economic development and share achievements in green and sustainable development by technological innovations, cross-border and collaborative cooperation with upstream and downstream industry chains and the coordinated development with the whole industry chain.

To cope with the increasingly serious environmental problems on our planet, people should work together to build a community with a shared future for mankind. Gotion High-Tech, as a part of the Carbon-Zero Land Transportation Alliance, will insist on the firm implementation of the "3060 Carbon Goals" and accelerate the high-efficient zero-carbon transition of the logistics system through innovation-driven and intelligent new energy development.
